Barclays US
Co-brand specialist. JetBlue Plus, Wyndham Earner, and AAdvantage Aviator (closing). Lost the AAdvantage exclusive to Citi in October 2025.
Barclays US occupies a specific lane in the co-brand card market: it is built for travelers who are already loyal to a specific airline or hotel program and want to accelerate earning within that ecosystem rather than accumulate flexible bank points. Where Chase and Amex reward cardholders for spending across broad categories and then transferring points to partners, Barclays skips the middleman entirely. If JetBlue is your primary carrier or Wyndham is your hotel of choice, Barclays puts you closer to those programs faster. If neither fits your travel patterns, there is little reason to hold a Barclays product in your wallet.
The application landscape shifted significantly in October 2025. The AAdvantage Aviator Red and Business cards stopped accepting new applications, and existing cardholders are being auto-converted to Citi AAdvantage products following Citi's acquisition of the AAdvantage co-brand exclusive. That transition removes what was once a meaningful Barclays advantage for American Airlines loyalists. Practically speaking, if you were considering an Aviator card for its sign-up bonus, that window is closed. The remaining Barclays lineup is narrower but cleaner: two cards, two programs, and a clear decision tree.
The strongest earning play Barclays currently supports is on JetBlue TrueBlue. The JetBlue Plus Card earns 10x on JetBlue purchases, and when you layer that on top of TrueBlue Mosaic status, the stacking potential is genuine for frequent JetBlue flyers. TrueBlue is a revenue-based program with no award charts, so redemption value fluctuates by route and demand. rewardztravel.com values TrueBlue points at roughly 1.3¢ per point on average, though premium cabin redemptions on JetBlue Mint require catching partner-fare availability, which is capacity-controlled and not always accessible. The card's free checked bag benefit also adds tangible cash value for travelers checking luggage on every trip.
On the hotel side, the Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus card opens access to 15,000 points per night redemptions at Vacasa vacation rentals, and the program's standard redemption floor sits at 8,000 points per night at a wide range of Wyndham properties globally. rewardztravel.com values Wyndham points at approximately 0.9¢ per point, which means the math works best on mid-tier properties and Vacasa stays rather than aspirational luxury redemptions. The Earner Plus card carries a $75 annual fee and a sign-up bonus of 45,000 points (valued around $450 at our conservative rate).
For most travelers evaluating Barclays, the JetBlue Plus Card is the natural entry point. Its 70,000-point sign-up bonus carries an estimated value of approximately $910 at our 1.3¢ TrueBlue valuation, and the $99 annual fee is recoverable quickly for anyone flying JetBlue even a handful of times per year. The Wyndham Earner Plus makes sense as a complement if Wyndham properties or Vacasa rentals are already part of your travel routine, but it is a supporting card rather than a primary one for most points strategies. Neither card competes directly with a flexible-currency product from Chase or Amex for travelers who want optionality across multiple programs.
