Bilt Rewards

The only major card that earns points on rent with no transaction fee. Transfers 1:1 to Hyatt, United, AA, and Turkish.

All issuers

Bilt Rewards occupies a genuinely distinct lane in the points-and-miles ecosystem. While Chase, Amex, and Capital One compete for spend on dining, travel, and everyday categories, Bilt built its foundation around rent, the single largest monthly expense for millions of Americans that has historically earned nothing. The pitch is straightforward: pay rent through the Bilt Mastercard with no transaction fee and earn 1x Bilt Points on that payment. For renters who are also serious award travelers, that incremental earning on a bill they would pay regardless is the core value proposition. Bilt is not trying to win on welcome bonuses or category multipliers alone. It is trying to monetize a blind spot in the market.

The program's operational rules carry real weight and deserve attention before you apply. The card family currently sits at three tiers as of February 2026: the Bilt Blue at $0 annual fee, the Bilt Obsidian at $95, and the Bilt Palladium at $495. Critically, none of these tiers earns rewards unless you use the card at least 5 times per statement period. That minimum-transaction requirement is not a soft suggestion; fail to hit it and your rent payment earns zero points for that month. Separately, Bilt designates the 1st of every month as Rent Day, on which all categories earn at double the standard rate, capped at 100,000 bonus points per year. Rent Day is a genuine reason to consolidate discretionary spending on that single calendar date if you are optimizing.

The most strategically compelling transfer play Bilt enables is the 1:1 transfer to World of Hyatt, a ratio identical to what Chase Ultimate Rewards cardholders receive. Hyatt's award chart remains one of the last hotel programs that still publishes meaningful saver rates, and our conservative valuation of Hyatt points at 1.7 cents per point reflects that the best Category 1 through 4 properties offer solid returns relative to cash rates. For travelers targeting luxury properties in the Category 6 to 8 range, redemption value can reach or exceed that baseline when cash rates are high, though availability at peak dates is not predictable. The Hyatt partnership alone positions Bilt as a meaningful complement to, or partial substitute for, a Chase Sapphire product if you are already holding Chase cards and want to diversify issuer exposure.

For airline redemptions, Bilt's 1:1 transfer to American AAdvantage stands out on a structural level. Bilt is currently the only U.S. credit card outside of Citi's co-brand portfolio that transfers to AAdvantage at a full 1:1 ratio, which matters because Citi's transferable-currency options are limited. Pairing that with the Turkish Miles and Smiles partnership creates a path to short-haul American metal at rates that can undercut AAdvantage's own pricing on the same routes. Turkish saver business class awards on partner carriers are capacity-controlled and require confirmed space before any transfer makes sense. Research and confirm the specific seats before moving points, because transfers across all Bilt partners are one-way and non-reversible. The United MileagePlus partnership rounds out the airline side with Star Alliance access, useful for programs like ANA or Lufthansa partners where United miles can find value.

On card selection, rewardztravel.com has not yet verified confirmed welcome offers for any Bilt card at this time, so we are not publishing a sign-up bonus comparison. What the structure suggests is that the Bilt Blue is the rational starting point for anyone testing the program's mechanics and rent-payment logistics before committing to an annual fee. The Bilt Obsidian and Bilt Palladium are upgrade considerations once you have confirmed that your landlord or property management company accepts Bilt payments cleanly and that your monthly rent volume justifies the fee tier.
