Earn 75,000 Avios after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months.

Our Take

Avios shine on short-haul AA flights (7,500 miles each way under 1,150 miles). The Travel Together ticket is amazing but requires $30k spend per year, only worth it if you already hit that.

Key Benefits

  • 75k Avios bonus
  • Travel Together ticket at $30k
  • No foreign tx fees
  • Great for short-haul AA

All Benefits

  • Earn 75,000 bonus Avios after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening (current public Chase offer for the British Airways Visa Signature Credit Card as displayed on the Chase issuer product page; bonus Avios post 6 to 8 weeks after qualifying)
  • $95 annual fee, not waived the first year (Chase pricing & terms summary on the Apply page; annual fee disclosed at checkout)
  • Travel Together Ticket earned every calendar year you make $30,000 in purchases on the card, valid for two years from issuance; redeem to bring one companion on a Reward Flight on British Airways for no additional Avios (taxes, fees and carrier charges still due in cash), or use it for a 50% Avios discount on a solo reward booking (Chase issuer page)
  • Travel Together Ticket cash value: BA's own example fare disclosure on the Chase page cites taxes/fees/carrier charges of roughly $682-$1,250 per adult in economy (World Traveller) or about $1,250 in business (Club World) for a Seattle-London round trip, so a companion riding the Avios-only side of the voucher routinely saves $1,000+ on a transatlantic redemption while still paying the BA fuel surcharges on their own ticket
  • Travel Together Ticket is in voucher form deposited to the cardmember's British Airways Club account after the $30,000 calendar-year threshold is met, and must be redeemed for travel within two years of issuance per the Chase product disclosure
  • Up to $600 in annual Reward Flight Statement Credits: $100 per Reward Flight in Economy or Premium Economy, or $200 per Reward Flight in Business or First, up to three statement credits per year, when you book a Reward Flight on British Airways and charge taxes, fees, and carrier charges to the British Airways Visa Signature (Chase issuer page, listed as a current card benefit; this is a newer benefit not present in older OMAAT/TPG writeups)
  • 3 Avios per $1 spent on flight purchases made directly with British Airways, Aer Lingus, Iberia, and LEVEL (Chase issuer page; LEVEL is IAG's low-cost long-haul brand)
  • 2 Avios per $1 spent on hotel accommodations booked directly with the hotel (Chase issuer page; does not include third-party OTAs like Expedia or Booking.com)
  • 1 Avios per $1 spent on all other purchases (Chase issuer page)
  • 10% off British Airways flights starting in the US when booked through a dedicated cardholder URL provided in welcome materials (Chase issuer page lists this as a current card benefit; not redeemable through ba.com or other booking channels)
  • No foreign transaction fees on purchases made outside the United States (Chase issuer page; Chase notes this saves about $150 in fees on $5,000 of international spend versus a typical 3% FX-fee card)
  • Avios earned post to your British Airways Club account automatically at the end of each billing cycle, provided you have a U.S. address on your BA Club profile (Chase issuer page disclosure)
  • Avios from card spend do not count toward British Airways Club tier-level qualification or retention; only Tier Points earned from paid BA/oneworld flying count toward Bronze, Silver, and Gold status (Chase issuer page disclosure)
  • Avios do not expire as long as your British Airways Club account remains active under the program's 36-month activity rule (Chase issuer page disclosure citing British Airways Club terms)
  • Avios can be redeemed for Reward Flights on British Airways and oneworld and partner airlines including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Aer Lingus, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LEVEL, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, and Royal Air Maroc, to over 900 destinations worldwide (Chase issuer page; redemption logistics are the sole responsibility of British Airways)
  • BA Avios, Iberia Avios, Aer Lingus Avios, and Qatar Privilege Club Avios all sit on the shared Avios platform; members can combine balances across these accounts using the British Airways Club / Iberia Plus / Aer Club / Privilege Club tools (BA issuer page on Avios; relevant because Iberia Plus and Aer Lingus often price short-haul intra-Europe and transatlantic awards in fewer Avios than BA, so transferring Avios between programs is a key value-unlock for this card)
  • British Airways Household Account: BA members at the same physical address (up to 7 people) can pool Avios into a single Household Account and redeem from the combined balance, making it practical for couples or families to combine card-earned Avios for a single high-value redemption (British Airways Club Household Account program; commonly used in conjunction with the Travel Together Ticket which requires the companion to be on the same itinerary)
  • Lost Luggage Reimbursement up to $3,000 per covered traveler for the cost to repair or replace checked or carry-on baggage that is lost, damaged, or stolen during a covered trip (Chase issuer page; NY residents limited to $2,000 per bag and $10,000 per trip)
  • Baggage Delay Insurance reimburses up to $100 per day for up to 3 days for essential purchases like toiletries and clothing when baggage is delayed more than 6 hours (Chase issuer page)
  • Purchase Protection covers eligible new purchases for 120 days from the date of purchase against damage or theft, up to $500 per item (Chase issuer page; NY residents 90-day coverage window)
  • Extended Warranty Protection extends the manufacturer's U.S. warranty by an additional year on eligible warranties of 3 years or less, up to 4 years from the date of purchase (Chase issuer page)
  • Visa Signature card benefits: complimentary concierge, Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection (room upgrade when available, daily breakfast for two, complimentary Wi-Fi, $25 food or beverage credit on hotel stays of two nights or more), and Visa Signature dining and entertainment access (standard Visa Signature core benefits available on any product issued on the Visa Signature tier; not Visa Infinite)
  • Issued by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Member FDIC; account approval and credit line subject to Chase's standard underwriting and the unwritten Chase 5/24 rule, under which applicants with 5 or more new card accounts opened across all issuers in the past 24 months are typically declined
  • Welcome bonus eligibility: standard Chase issuer language on the Apply page indicates the bonus is one-per-account-lifetime per the Chase product family, but the British Airways Visa Signature is a Chase cobrand product so it is not subject to Chase Sapphire family or Chase Ink family welcome-bonus restrictions; existing cardholders or recent recipients of a BA Visa Signature welcome bonus are not eligible for a new bonus (per general Chase cobrand policy as documented across OMAAT and Doctor of Credit)
  • Note on legacy welcome-offer text: an analytics tracking label embedded in the Chase product page references an 85,000 Bonus Avios offer, but the live displayed and applied-for offer is 75,000 Avios after $5,000 in 3 months; the 85,000 label appears to be a stale or test segment, not the public offer available at this scrape date (Chase issuer page raw HTML inspection 2026-05-23)
  • Lounge access: Not offered. The British Airways Visa Signature does not grant any complimentary airport lounge access — no Priority Pass, no BA Galleries/Concorde Room access, and no Chase Sapphire Lounge access — and there is no provision for purchasing day passes at a discount; lounge access on BA flights requires earned status (BA Club Bronze for Galleries, Silver/Gold for Concorde Room access on First) or a paid premium-cabin ticket
  • TSA PreCheck / Global Entry / NEXUS application fee credit: Not offered. The British Airways Visa Signature does not reimburse the $100 Global Entry or $85 TSA PreCheck application fee, unlike the Chase Sapphire Preferred ($100 every 4 years), Sapphire Reserve, or premium IHG/United Chase cobrands
  • Trip cancellation and trip interruption insurance: Not listed on the current Chase British Airways Visa Signature Travel & purchase coverage section, in contrast to the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Reserve which both include this protection; older third-party reviews citing trip cancellation coverage on this card predate Chase's removal of trip cancellation from default Visa Signature cobrand benefit lineups
  • Trip delay reimbursement: Not listed on the current Chase issuer Travel & purchase coverage section for this card (only Lost Luggage Reimbursement and Baggage Delay Insurance are listed)
  • Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver: Not listed on the current Chase British Airways Visa Signature Travel & purchase coverage section. Prior third-party reviews described primary CDW on this card, but the live Chase issuer page no longer enumerates auto rental CDW among the card's protections — treat as removed/unavailable unless Chase reinstates it; cardholders should not rely on primary CDW when declining the rental company's collision waiver
  • Travel Accident Insurance and Emergency Evacuation: Not listed on the current Chase Travel & purchase coverage section for this card (these protections appear on Sapphire Preferred/Reserve but not on the British Airways Visa Signature)
  • Cell phone protection: Not offered (Chase does not list cell phone protection in the Travel & purchase coverage section of the British Airways Visa Signature issuer page; unlike some Visa Signature cards where Chase opts in, this product does not include it)
  • Anniversary bonus Avios: Not offered. Unlike Chase's United and Hyatt cobrands, the British Airways Visa Signature does not grant a fixed Avios bonus on each cardmember anniversary; ongoing earn comes from the 3X/2X/1X structure, the Travel Together Ticket spend threshold, the $600 Reward Flight Statement Credits, and the welcome bonus
  • BA fuel surcharge / carrier-imposed charge exposure: Not insured. Awards on British Airways routinely carry $400-$1,200+ in YQ carrier-imposed surcharges plus government taxes per long-haul international round trip, and the Travel Together Ticket explicitly does not waive these — the companion still pays full taxes and YQ on their own ticket. Cardholders avoid this by transferring Avios to partners like Aer Lingus or by booking BA awards on partner airlines (e.g., American, Alaska) that pass through lower carrier charges; the card itself provides no insurance or credit against BA fare/surcharge changes or Avios chart devaluations
  • BA labor disruption / strike protection: Not offered. The card does not include any travel-disruption coverage tied to British Airways operational issues such as strikes, IT outages, or schedule changes; rebooking and refund rights flow through BA's own conditions of carriage and EU/UK 261 regulations, not through the credit card
